The following comment from "Atheism Remix" kind of pushed my buttons regarding how I feel about the Four Horsemen of the Atheism Apocalypse (Albert Mohler's term). Here is the quote,
They argue that belief in God is organized ignorance, that theistic beliefs lead to violence, and that atheism is liberation.
So, how do you feel about their view of "belief in God?"
Personally, for me, belief in God comes after a deeply involved study of God's word, study of other Worldviews and discussions with many learned people. I can't fathom how they could claim that my belief comes from 'organized ignorance.' Now, I admit that I am not the brightest bulb in the pack, but, I think that I have a good educational background and don't believe that I have succumb to creating an 'idol' but have really discovered that Yahweh is who He claims to be, The Lord God Almighty.
Anyway, let me know how you feel about their view of us.
It's easy to see how some come to such an incorrect view of what it means to believe in God. If we take a look at most of those who call themselves "Christians," we find many who don't know what they believe nor why they believe it, and the lives they lead are either legalistic or without regard to Scripture. A true and complete understanding of biblical faith in Jesus Christ turns the above statement around. Atheism is seen as organized ignorance, believers are called to follow the path of love and sacrifice, and real freedom comes from knowing the truth.
